This time we will introduce the repair of an extendable French dining table made of solid oak.
This antique table made of solid oak was purchased by a customer during her stay in France. The gentle floral relief is feminine and beautiful, evoking a warm and rustic image of a country grandma. It is rare to find a table with such rich character, but over the years and with many memories, the tabletop has faded, and the solid oak tabletop has become distorted and warped to the point where it can no longer be described as simply "charming."
--BEFORE The center tabletop is severely damaged and the extension is in relatively good condition. This type of extendable table is a very convenient item that allows you to expand the table when you have guests over, but since the frequency of use is different, the top tabletop deteriorates first compared to the wings.

リストリーのコンセプトは、Re(再生)+ Story(物語)です。

We took detailed measurements of the existing tabletop and selected wood grain that was as close as possible to the new one.
The atmosphere of the extension and the newly manufactured tabletop is completely different. The most important thing this time was to have the 0-year-old tabletop and the approximately 80-year-old extension tabletop "co-star" with each other.

The new tabletop, which is 0 years old, is inked once to emphasize the contrast of the wood grain.
Next, the existing paint on the extension (both wings) was stripped off and the surface, along with the new top, was sanded down, carefully removing the grime that had accumulated over approximately 80 years.
The solid wood has been repeatedly shrinking and expanding, losing all of its oils, becoming dry and having gaps. With the mindset of restoring rather than repairing, we carefully moisturize the wood and fill in the gaps with natural glue.
They will be dyed at the same time, but the degree of color absorption varies depending on the age of the wood, so we will not dye the extension too much and will dye the new top thoroughly to avoid any differences.
